Deep Dive
Welcome to part one of my end-to-end SmartLead setup series! In this guide, I'll walk you through setting up your SmartLead account and connecting your email accounts to it. This is the first step towards mastering your cold email campaigns. Let’s dive right in.
Getting Started with SmartLead
First, you’ll need to create a SmartLead account. I’m using Microsoft Edge for this demonstration, but you can use any browser. Start by going to the SmartLead website and clicking "Get Started for Free." You’ll get a 14-day free trial, so no worries about immediate costs.
Step-by-Step Account Creation:
Visit SmartLead’s Website: Go to SmartLead.
Click "Get Started for Free": Begin your trial.
Fill in Your Details: Enter your name, email address, and create a password. For this guide, I’m using one of my cold email accounts.
Specify How You Found SmartLead: For instance, select "Google search" if that’s how you discovered it.
Create Your Account: Click the create button.
Email Verification and Initial Setup
After creating your account, SmartLead will send a verification email. Here’s what to do next:
Check Your Email: Look for the verification email from SmartLead. Refresh your inbox if necessary.
Verify Your Account: Click the verification link in the email.
Now that your account is set up, it’s time to add your email accounts.
Connecting Your Email Accounts
Adding a Google Account:
Navigate to Email Settings: Once logged in, go to your email settings on SmartLead.
Select Google as Your Provider: Choose Google from the options provided.
Admin Panel Configuration: Follow the on-screen guide to configure your Google admin panel. You’ll need to:
Copy the provided URL.
Log in to your Google admin account.
Add the app via OAuth.
Trust and finish the setup.
Connect Your Google Account: After the admin setup, go back to SmartLead and connect your Google account by signing in and granting the necessary permissions.
Adding an Outlook Account:
Select Outlook as Your Provider: Choose Outlook from the options.
Connect Your Outlook Account: Click to connect, sign in with your Outlook credentials, and accept the permissions.
Complete the Setup: Once signed in, your Outlook account will be successfully connected.
Finalizing the Setup
Congratulations! You’ve successfully set up your SmartLead account and connected your email accounts. This foundational step ensures you’re ready to start creating and managing your email campaigns.
